Wishing you a Merry Holiday 2012

Less us not forget the Cat, one of the most unique of God’s Creatures.

Please consider adopting a cat, more that 90% adult cats are euthanized in San Bernardino County shelters.  Adult cats are the most loyal and appreciative of being rescued because the noise of clanging cage doors is so beyond ear-splitting it is equivalent to torture.  We have several adult cats rescued at our facility and we would love to have you adopt one but we will applaud you for saving one from any shelter.  This Holiday add Merriment to your home by adopting/rescuing an Adult Cat.  Cheers, from all the volunteers at Sounds of Silent Spirits.

Tabby in the snow

Did you KNOW:

A cat’s brain is biologically more similar to a human brain than it is to a dog’s. Both humans and cats have identical regions in their brains that are responsible for emotions.

A cat’s hearing is better than a dog’s. And a cat can hear high-frequency sounds up to two octaves higher than a human.

A cat can jump up to five times its own height in a single bound.

A cat’s eyesight is both better and worse than humans. It is better because cats can see in much dimmer light and they have a wider peripheral view. It’s worse because they don’t see color as well as humans do. Scientists believe grass appears red to cats.

Food for Thought

THANK YOU DORY, FOR SAVING this dog.  Now called Zane.  Please keep us up to date.   For those of you who didn’t follow this story, Zane stubbled his way on to a street in Woodland Hills the last week of February and this kind Italian lady took him in.   They asked a friend, Zaida, to help them get him placed as they had no way to keep him.  Zaida, apparently following our Facebook contacted us via email and asked us for help.  Since we are nearly three hours from Woodland Hills we said we would post him on our facebook and on our site.  We also tried contacting several pitbull rescues to no avail.  But this loving sole, Dory, went and picked him up and off to the Vet he went.  She saved Zane.  What a wonderful act of Kindness.  ~sounds of silent spirits rescue

“If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you; that is the principal difference between a dog and a man.”
Mark Twain

We really want to help this dog who has found Temperary safety with a family in Woodland Hills, a suburb in Los Angeles.  If you know of any Los Angeles Rescue Organizations that would help placing this boy we would be very grateful.  He is going to be neutered by the folks who found him and they have been caring for him but they can’t keep him.  So please if you can pass this along we would be very grateful.    Grey, his temp. name, is looking for a home that will honor his past but forge a wonderful future for him.  CONTACT INFO:  Zaida       zaida27@me.com    or   sossrescue@gmail.com
