Food for Thought

THANK YOU DORY, FOR SAVING this dog.  Now called Zane.  Please keep us up to date.   For those of you who didn’t follow this story, Zane stubbled his way on to a street in Woodland Hills the last week of February and this kind Italian lady took him in.   They asked a friend, Zaida, to help them get him placed as they had no way to keep him.  Zaida, apparently following our Facebook contacted us via email and asked us for help.  Since we are nearly three hours from Woodland Hills we said we would post him on our facebook and on our site.  We also tried contacting several pitbull rescues to no avail.  But this loving sole, Dory, went and picked him up and off to the Vet he went.  She saved Zane.  What a wonderful act of Kindness.  ~sounds of silent spirits rescue

“If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you; that is the principal difference between a dog and a man.”
Mark Twain

We really want to help this dog who has found Temperary safety with a family in Woodland Hills, a suburb in Los Angeles.  If you know of any Los Angeles Rescue Organizations that would help placing this boy we would be very grateful.  He is going to be neutered by the folks who found him and they have been caring for him but they can’t keep him.  So please if you can pass this along we would be very grateful.    Grey, his temp. name, is looking for a home that will honor his past but forge a wonderful future for him.  CONTACT INFO:  Zaida       zaida27@me.com    or   sossrescue@gmail.com

Thank you for your support.

Rescue me Now!!

Help! we need an LA Area Pitty group to take in this poor dog

Pit is located in Woodland Hills, found several days ago.

Found several days ago with  choke markings on neck, ears and legs have gashes as if he were used as dog bait….

As you can see in the photo, he is severely malnourished. He was given vitamins and food. He is slowly but surely coming back to life, and responds so well to all this attention. He ate and ate and ate…..until the cows came home!! :))

He is unaltered but seems socialized.

The fact that he has been through so much in his 2-3 years of life, he is lovable and affectionate. We really want him to find a good foster and/or rescue. We are willing to help in any way we can. We have a leash, collar, food, bed, blanket, towel. We will neuter the dog.

Inquiries about this dog can be sent to sossrescue@gmail.com and Zaida27@me.com.

Video of Valentine

Good Morning All. Valentine is trudging along in her long recover. We have had some amazing Organizations and private parties show interest in adopting Valentine. Until we know our Valentine is ready for her new forever we fell that it’s jumping the gun. We have earmarked all the interested parties but please continue to ask. It will be weeks if not months before this can be addressed. All this outpouring of love for her helps all of us that care for her. ~ Sounds of Silent Spirits Rescue and Sanctuary Volunteers

Valentine is doing well

Valentine came through her surgery to amputate her right paw yesterday afternoon. She is still heavily sedated but recovering quite well. She was fitted for her prosthetic this morning!!!! But it will be awhile before she can wear it; healing is essential. She will be fitted by OrthoPets. WE will keep all of you updated on “Valentine’s” progress. Sincerely, Sounds of Silent Spirits.

Valentine has a comfy bed and even new blankets!
