Indian Summer Swim with Valentine
September and Valentine is now 18 months old now. She is really enjoying her new life with our Founder Regene and her Husband Chuck. As you can see that she is really Chuck’s Valentine. Although Valentine doesn’t really swim, she enjoys floating around in the pool. Of course she has her safety life vest that makes this possible. All of us as Sounds of Silent Spirits wants to thank all you support Valentine and our rescue efforts for all animals in need.

I am often dumbfounded when I see well intentioned folks walking their beloved dogs in hot weather. Not only can they put their dog at high risk of a heart attack,they can literally burn the pads on their paws. So, what I kindly tell folks is if you can’t walk on the asphalt or concrete in your bare feet, neither can your doggie.

Education Program to Visit Boys and Girls Club in Yucca Valley
Rocket the tortoise and Valentine will be escorted by Sam and Melissa to an education event at the Boys and Girls club of Yucca Valley on July 3, 2012, from 12:30-2:30
Sounds of Silent Spirits will be sharing information about challenges facing the Mojave Desert Tortoise, as well as educating the community about animal abuse and how to prevent it.
Wildlife rescue, a young barn owl
Today Reg rescued a barn owl. We transported the owl to one of our partners who specialized in wild birds. This beautiful bird was fairly quiet on the drive. We she was transferred between crates it was clear that this young bird is aware and alert.
The owl will be fed a good diet while kept quiet for a few days. We are hoping the owl was just exhausted and hungry when found and not injured.
It was an awesome break in my day to give a ride to this beautiful bird. Here is hoping she recovers quickly.
